The Virtues of Leaven

As a believer, who has been
translated into this Kingdom we need revelation of how the Kingdom of heaven is
like leaven.  And as new citizens
in this new and mysterious Kingdom we need to listen to the one that made the
way for us to enter the Kingdom.
He says, to beware the leaven of Herod and the leaven of the Pharisees.
(Mark 8:15 – “And Jesus [repeatedly and expressly] chargedand admonished them, saying, Look out; keep on your guard and  beware of the leaven  of the Pharisees and the leaven of Herod and  the Herodians.”)

So, lets look at these types leaven:

1.      Kingdom of heaven
2.      Pharisees
3.      Herod

Kingdom of heaven

Matthew 13:33 (KJV)
“Another parable spake he unto them; the kingdom of heaven is like unto leaven, which a woman took, and hid in three measures of meal, till the whole was leavened.”

Young's Literal Translation (YLT) ;
"Another simile spake he to them: `The reign of the heavens is like to leaven, which a
woman having taken, hid in three measures of meal, till the whole was leavened."

Amplified (AMP)
"He told them another parable: The kingdom of heaven is like leaven (sour dough) which a woman took and covered over in three measures of meal or flour till all of it was leavened."

Galatians 5:9 - A little leaven leaveneth the whole lump

This leaven will change you and make you.  If you are exposed to this “living ingredient”you will be transformed.  As often as you enter into the Kingdom of heaven, you are effect by the atmosphere and the citizens of the Kingdom.  Let me paraphrase a verse from John 3:31 – “…he who spends time in the Kingdom of heaven can return to earth and has been qualified & equip to be leaven (an agent of change) on earth…”
This would be a good time to read John 3:31 for yourself.

Leaven of the Pharisees:
Matthew 23:13 (Amp)
"But woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, pretenders (hypocrites)! For you shut the kingdom of heaven in men’s faces; for you neither enter yourselves, nor do you allow those who are about to go in to do so."

Luke 17:20 (Amp)
"
Asked by the Pharisees when the kingdom of God would come, He replied to them by saying, The kingdom of God does not come with signs to be observed or with
visible display,"

The leaven of the Pharisees shuts the doors to the Kingdom. They not only block the door but they will lead you to false places, to hierarchical organizations.  The influence of possible goodness will ruin your appetite for greatness. Their influence will leave you in the dust and make the heavens seem to be “Off Limits”. So, ‘beware the leaven of the Pharisees’ no matter the form it comes in.

Leaven of Herod:

     Herod I
    Matthew 2:16
"When Herod (*Herod the Great) realized that he had been outwitted by the Magi, he was furious, and he gave orders to kill all the boys in Bethlehem and its vicinity who were two years old and under, in  accordance with the time he had learned from the Magi."

*In the days of Herod the king - This was Herod, improperly denominated the Great, the son of Antipater, an Idumean: he reigned 37 years in Judea, reckoning from the - time he was created- king of that country by the Romans. Our blessed Lord
was born in the last year of his reign; and, at this time, the scepter had literally departed from Judah, a foreigner being now upon the throne.

     Herod II
     Mark 6: 14-16
**King Herod heard of it, for [Jesus’] name had become well known. He andthey [of his court] said, John the Baptist has been raised from the dead; that is why these
mighty powers [of performing miracles] are at work in Him.  15 [But] others kept saying, It is Elijah! And others said, It is a prophet, like one of the prophets [of old]. 16
But when Herod heard [of it], he said, [This very] John, whom I beheaded, has been raised [from the dead].

     Luke 13:31-32 (AMP)
31 At that very hour some Pharisees came up and said to Him, Go away from here, for **Herod son of Herod the Great, Herod Antipas) is determined to kill You.  32 And He said to them, Go and tell that fox [sly and crafty, skulking and cowardly], Behold, I drive out demons and perform healings today and tomorrow, and on the third day I finish (complete) My ourse.

**The fifth wife of Herod the Great was Cleopatra of Jerusalem. She was the mother of Herod surnamed Antipas, who married Herodias, the wife of his brother Philip, while he was still living. Being reproved for this act by John the Baptist and having imprisoned this holy man, he caused him to be beheaded, agreeable to the promise he had rashly made to the daughter of his wife Herodias, who had pleased him with her dancing. He attempted to seize the person of Jesus Christ, and to put him to death.

The leaven of Herod creates a misconception in the mind of men.  It leads you to believe that there is more authority when operating in the kingdom of earth (aka the traditions of men) than operating in and from the kingdom of heaven.  The two Herods  (Government Systems) also sought to overthrow the Government of God.  Both of them tried to kill Jesus.   Every son will need to confront false
authorities, false governments.   Every King will face kings and if you will face them from your throne  (seat) in heaven you will overcome with great joy.
So, ‘be aware of the leaven of Herod’ – there is no King but Jesus and
those that grow-up in Him!  He is  and forever will be the King of kings and the Lord of  lords.

Psalm 2:1-4 (AMP)
1 Why do the nations assemble with commotion [uproar and confusion of voices], and why do the people imagine (meditate upon and devise) an empty scheme?
2 The kings of the earth take their places; the rulers take counsel together against the Lord and His Anointed One. They say,
3 Let us break Their bands [of restraint] asunder and cast Their cords [of control] from us.
4  He Who sits in the heavens laughs; the Lord has them in derision [and in supreme contempt He mocks them].

One of the wider definitions of leaven is something that causes change by it’s influence.  That is the commanding characteristic, the strength of Leaven.

A little leaven of the Kingdom will change you into a King.
A little leaven of the Pharisees will make you confused.
A little leaven of Herod will attempt to kill you and your destiny.
So be aware - let Kingdom Leaven have its way in you!

Like your Father, you will sit in the heavens and laugh!
